Intermediate Course, Level 7
Instructor: Shen Yun Instructor
1. Level 7 is the last Intermediate level. It mainly focuses on the accuracy of dance postures and movement paths, flexibility, as well as the stability of the student while on one foot.
2. Students will focus on the center of gravity and alignment of weight for dance postures both on two feet and one. While training their stability, they will also develop a holistic sense for the overall dance movements and postures.
3. Clearly define hand and foot positions, master the connecting path of motion between simple dance postures, and understand horizontal and vertical movement paths.
4. Add awareness of shen-yun in the process of performing movements and clarify shen-yun’s basic elements: ti, chen, chong, kao. Coordinate movements with breathing— inhaling when lifting the arms and exhaling when lowering them.
5. While training on the barre, improve strength and stability of the pivot foot, laying a foundation for floor work.
