- What age can I attend classes?It is open to anyone aged seven to seventeen.
- How can I determine the most suitable class level for my needs?If the student lacks basic dance knowledge, it is advisable to enroll in the Level I class. For all other inquiries, please contact FTDPAC customer service to determine the appropriate class level. During the first session, our dance instructor will assess the student's abilities and ensure placement at a suitable level. If a level adjustment is needed, the student will transition to the new level, commencing the first of 48 class hours the following week.
- Can two children purchase just one program and take classes together?Each child will need to register and purchase separate programs. If both children are at the same level, the students can sign up for the same group class. One-on-one class is strictly conducted for one student at a time.
- Are all the teachers from Shen Yun Performing Arts?Most of our teachers are former Shen Yun dancers, with extensive experience in the Shen Yun Performing Arts. Furthermore, all instructors undergo standardized training at the Fei Tian Dance Proficiency Assessment Center and must pass examinations to obtain their teaching certificates before they can teach.
- Are there any free trial classes?Yes, we provide a 30-minute free trial class. For details, please contact customer service ([email protected]). In addition, the first four classes are paid trial classes. If you do not want to continue, you can apply to withdraw before the fourth class and stop paying. Paid trial classes are not refundable.
- Am I limited to a single viewing of a combo demonstration after purchasing it?No, you will have permanent access to watch it.
- Are there any face-to-face Fei Tian Dance Proficiency Assessment Center classes?There are face-to-face tutorials. Please contact customer service for details.
- Is the demonstration in the Level 1 recorded course only shown by women as depicted in the image, or are there male demonstration movements as well?Yes. The hand movements are different, the male teacher will teach to the boys, while the female teacher will teach different hand movements to the girls.
- Can students sign up for Level 4 live class if they have a good foundation in dance?For live courses at Level 4 and above, students must pass an exam to register. All new enrollments must begin at Level 3, regardless of their prior dance experience. After the instructor evaluates the student, a more appropriate level may be recommended. Adult students are not required to take exams before Level 3.
- What is the minimum number of participants for a group live course?The minimum number of students needed to start a group class is 3. You can contact customer service to help organize classes.
- Can two students register for a course from the same email account?No, every student must register with a unique email address. This means that two students, such as siblings, cannot register with the same email. The system currently identifies each student based on their email address. If two students share the same email, the system will not accurately record their exam and class results.
- Did any student dancers become Shen Yun dancers with the Shen Yun Performing Arts at the FTDPAC center?Yes. Several students have been admitted to the Shen Yun Performing Arts at FTDPAC Center.
- When are the holidays for FTDPAC?There are four primary holidays. Classes are not held on: a) Christmas: December 24th, 25th, and 26th; b) New Year's: January 1st and 2nd; c) May 13th; and d) Thanksgiving Day.
- What room size is recommended when a student takes an online class?The room has to be big enough so that the camera will pick up the student's entire body in motion.
- Do students have to put mats on hardwood floors?Depending on habits and needs, students can use a mat for added stability, especially on slippery floors.
- Do I need a barre for class?If the space at home is large enough, you may consider installing a fixed barre; but if space is limited, you can buy a movable barre. It is recommended that the barre be more than 2 meters long to make it more convenient to perform dance moves. We don't have any brands to recommend at the moment, so we suggest you search online for a barre that fits your home environment.
- Is safety compromised in remote classes without a teacher present?No, there are no risky maneuvers in the basic dance program. However, students do require access to a bar.
- What should students wear to class?Students are required to wear dancewear and dance shoes. We recommend the brand, Shen Yun Dancer, worn by Shen Yun performers. It is available at: 神韻Dancer . Dance shoes can be purchased online.
- What should a student do when he/she cannot enter a live classroom?If the student cannot enter the classroom, one of the following may be the issue: a) Use the computer to log in, do not use the cell phone to log in. b) Use the Chrome browser to log in. Please do not use the Safari browser. c) Try refreshing the page. d) Log out of the account, close the browser, and restart again. e) Check to see if you have successfully selected a course. After you have successfully selected a course, the countdown to the start of the course will appear on the course selection page. f) Check whether the automatic tuition fee deduction for the current month was successful.
- What's the advance notice needed for class time changes? Can classes be canceled?If there is a special circumstance that requires the class to be rescheduled, please make the change 24 hours prior to the start of the class. Group classes need to be rescheduled 48 hours prior to the start of the class. Cancellations can be made up to 48 hours prior to the start of the class. After cancellation, this class and subsequent course selections will need to be reselected.
- Is the video that the teacher puts up in class demonstrating the movements of the combo demonstrations? Are there different videos showing the different movements of men and women?Yes. In live classes, teachers offer personalized explanations and guidance tailored to each child's specific needs, whereas recorded classes lack this individualized instruction. The recorded videos include versions featuring both male and female movements.
- Is it feasible to skip the first week and join classes in the second or third week instead?Students are required to select classes in consecutive order, starting from the first week and continuing sequentially without skipping any weeks. Any necessary adjustments or corrections to class selections must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class time.
- Why are some students being transferred to a lower level course after their initial lesson?A higher level course is not always best for a student. There are several reasons why a teacher suggests a student take a lower-level course. For example, one of the main reasons is that a student's muscular dexterity may not be strong enough. With a stronger muscular ability and a better foundation of skills, a student will progress and develop faster in later years.
- What should I do if one of the student forgets to choose a class in a one-on-five group?Students who forget to choose a course will be counted as absent from class and will be charged for one lesson.
- How do I know the content of this class?After finishing the class, simply click on the three dots at the end of the class to see the class notes.
- When is the best time to start doing leg press exercises to strengthen the legs?Since young children are at the optimal stage for bone development, it is recommended to carry out flexibility training according to their individual differences and based on their own conditions and circumstances. - How to make a payment?You can either make a one-time payment or opt for installment payments. With the installment plan, after your initial payment, automatic deductions will occur monthly. For instance, if the first deduction is on the 5th of the month, subsequent deductions will also happen on the 5th of each month. Deductions will continue for 12 consecutive months before ceasing, though the course can be completed within an 18-month period. The course can be completed within 18 months.
- What if I've started paying by installment but can't continue with the class later on?Kindly notify customer service via email at least one month in advance. Complete the course withdrawal request form. Deductions for payments and classes will cease one month after receiving the request. Should you wish to continue learning in the future, you will need to repurchase the course.
- If I suspend the course for the month and miss the class, will the fee be deducted?Our fees are automatically deducted once a month on the same date from the day you purchased the course. After 12 consecutive months, it will stop automatically. Your purchased courses will continue to run. Students need to complete 48 lessons within 18 months.
- What should I do if the installment deduction fails?Please check whether there is any problem with the limit and expiration date of your bank card, and if there is any problem, please re-bind your bank card. After two business days, the charge will be attempted again. After the deduction is successful, you can ensure a smooth class.
